New York Art Fairs / March 2014

It's a big week for the visual arts in New York. Ten special art venues / art fairs are in Manhattan this week and open through Sunday. Below is information about each, along with a few galleries or artists you might not want to miss. You'll find lots more information if you have time to visit the art fair websites.

The Armory Show
March 6–9 / Thursday–Sunday: 12–7
Location: Piers 92 & 94 (12th Avenue at West 55th Street, Hell’s Kitchen District)

ADAA Art Show
March 5–9 / Wednesday–Friday: 12–8pm; Saturday, 12–7pm; Sunday, 12–5
Location: Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Avenue, Upper East Side)

Each gallery focuses on one artist, 98 galleries participating.

Clio Art Fair
March 6–8 / Thursday–Saturday: 10–7
Location: 508 West 26th Street (Chelsea District)
created with the idea of discovering under represented artists and showcasing the careers and achievements of already affirmed creative minds.
Artists include: Arnold Newman; Mel Rosenthal; Loren Ellis; Carlo Sampietro. Admission Free.

Moving Image
March 6–9 / Thursday–Saturday: 11–8pm; Sunday, 11–4
Location: Waterfront New York Tunnel (269 Eleventh Avenue, Chelsea District)
Galleries include: Mark Moore Gallery, Los Angeles; Winkleman Gallery, NY; Curator's Office, Washington, DC. Admission Free.

New City

Location: 529 West 20th Street, 2W (Chelsea District)
Japanese contemporary art fair, galleries include: Sakurado Fine Arts, hpgro Gallery, Gallery Kogure. Admission Free.

The (Un)fair
March 5–9 / Wednesday–Sunday: 11–8
Location: 500 West 52nd Street (Hell’s Kitchen)
Artists include: Liz Adams-Jones; Robert C. Jackson; Adam Miller; Brittany Schall. Admission Free.


The 2014 Whitney Biennial also opens this week at the Whitney Museum of American Art, 945 Madison Avenue. It's open to the public on March 7th and continues through May 25, 2014. is an online art resource for collectors and art enthusiasts.
