FotoFest 2008

FotoFest 2008, officially opens tonight with a gala party. Addmission is free, with music starting at nine. If you're in Houston and interested in art or photography don't miss this event. Location is 1113 Vine Street in Houston and the opening will be from 8pm to midnight.

After its opening on Friday night, FOTOFEST2008 continues with the opening reception for Current Perspectives, 1998–2008 CHINA with the new work of artists XING Danwen and ZENG Han at Bering & James.The Current Perspectives series features the work of 10 multi-disciplinary Chinese artists addressing issues of identity, memory, spirituality, gender, urbanism, and the complex relationships between the present and the past in contemporary China.

Designed as a series of one-person exhibitions, the exhibition at Bering & James feature two young artists dealing with contemporary life in the new urban and affluent China. The exhibition opens March 8, 2008, 6-9pm and continues through April 20, 2008
